The Position 
Our client is looking for a suitably qualified General Paediatrician to join the Women, Child and Youth Health Service. This is a permanent position, working 56 hours/fortnight (0.7FTE), located at the top of the South Island. The on-call after hours roster is shared equally on a 1:6 rota, and acute admissions to the inpatient areas are managed by a single Paediatrician during work hours on a 'week on take' basis. You will first and foremost be a generalist with the skills and energy to contribute to further developing the service to children and families. You will use innovative and creative approaches to making a difference. 

You will join a dynamic and dedicated team of five other experienced General Paediatricians providing general paediatric and specialist care for a population of about 105,000; including Level 2 neonatal care for > 32 weeks gestation, general, ambulatory, developmental and community paediatrics. The child health team works closely with the maternity team who manage 1200 deliveries per annum.

Essential Criteria: 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Paediatrics with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
