The Position
Seeking applicants for a full time position in a rural emergency medicine department. Our client has a 15-bed emergency department seeing 18,000 patients per year, and 24/7 laboratory and radiology services, including CT. The inpatient unit has 40 beds split between general medicine, low acuity surgery and rehabilitation.
The emergency department is staffed by an eclectic mix of doctors - rural specialists, emergency medical officers and emergency specialists. They assess all patients presenting acutely to the hospital and treat or admit as required. They also provide procedural sedation for both adults and children when necessary.
Essential Criteria:
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
