Permanent Emergency Medicine Consultant

Start Date: February 2019

Rates: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience

The Position
An opportunity exists for Emergency Medicine Consultant for permanent role starting February 2019. The Emergency Department has approximately 36,000 presentations per annum, with a modern open plan design that supports 21 beds (which includes 6 observation beds). The Registrars are supported by a Senior House Office Roster. Their roster is 4 x 10 hour shifts per week (3 clinical and 1 non-clinical) which include mornings and afternoons and one weekend in four, the on call is also shared in the days when you are working.

Located in the southernmost city in New Zealand's South Island and is renowned for its friendly and unhurried pace of life and strong sense of community. There are abundant sports and other amenities, educational (primary through tertiary) facilities, as well as a vibrant arts and cultural scene. Close by are national parks and summer and winter playgrounds that are part of Queenstown and Central Otago.

Essential Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for this position you must hold for vocational of practice in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand
