The Position 
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced cardiologist to participate in the development of cardiology services up to and including the establishment of a local interventional service. The successful applicant will be expected to take a place on a cardiology on-call service as well as an interventional cardiology on-call service once established. 

A business case has been approved for the development of an interventional service with PCI capability and the appointment of two interventional cardiologists. There is an expectation that the hospital will be PCI capable five days a week and contribute to an out-of-hours interventional roster, and that this will be achieved within three years. The successful applicant should have proven clinical experience as well as a demonstrated understanding of departmental development and the provision of strong clinical governance. In addition, experience in delivering an interventional service from its infancy and working in a rural setting is also desirable.

Essential Criteria: 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Cardiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
