General Physician/Rural Generalist

The Position 
Our client requires a General Physician/Rural Generalist for permanent role starting February 2020. In this role, you are guaranteed to make a true difference in the community you are working with. You will participate in the delivery of general medical services for the West Coast community. This role includes acute services, in-patient and out-patient responsibilities as well as the supervision and support of Rural Hospital Medicine Registrars, House Officers and Medical Students. You will have the ability to make this role your own and specialise in your areas of interest. 

Their hospital environment is supportive and friendly and the staff work in dedicated teams. This role would see you working closely with other local physicians, Rural Hospital Medicine specialists, GP's as well as local and transalpine based specialists. 

The Location 
Located on the West Coast of the South Island, it is a remote area known for its friendliness, kiwi can-do and remarkable scenery. The wild Tasman Sea has created natural wonders such as the pancake rocks along this coast of rugged beaches. Beautiful red flowered rata forest covers the hills, and colonies of seals, penguins and other unique NZ wildlife dot the coast. There is plenty to explore here in the great little coastal towns that are full of history, and some of New Zealand’s most amazing national parks. 

Essential Criteria 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
