General Medicine Consultant - Geriatrician

Start Date: February 2019

Rates: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience

The Position
Our client is looking for a Permanent Geriatrician starting February 2019. They provide comprehensive services for people with age-related health problems (e.g., stroke, fractured neck of femur, delirium and cognitive impairment). They maintain a close liaison with all other hospital and community services with a particular emphasis on Mental Health Services for Older People, Needs Assessment and Service Coordination service and Orthopaedics.

The Location
Located in the southernmost city in New Zealand's South Island and is renowned for its friendly and unhurried pace of life and strong sense of community. There are abundant sports and other amenities, educational (primary through tertiary) facilities, as well as a vibrant arts and cultural scene. Close by are national parks and summer and winter playgrounds that are part of Queenstown and Central Otago.

Essential Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for this position you must hold or eligible for vocational scope of practice in general medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
