The Position
Our client is see a large tertiary hospital serving 750,000 people in the North Island. They are seeking a fixed term Specialist Haematologist to join them until March 2018.
The Haematology service is part of the Regional Cancer Centre, incorporating a full mix of Haematology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Palliative Care services. The principal focus of the service is high-quality patient care with particular emphasis on multidisciplinary patient management.
Services provided include haematologic malignancies (including acute leukaemia, high-grade lymphoma and autologous transplantation), general and obstetric haematology, haemostasis-thrombosis and laboratory haematology.
The current team consists of 7 haematologists including a laboratory haematopathologist, working in collaboration with 5 haematology registrars, 4 nurse specialists, 6 medical oncologists and 5 radiation oncologists.
To be eligible for this role you must hold Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
The Location
Located in a large inland city in the upper North Island. The welcoming spirit, rich history and innovative population complement the easy access to the great outdoors, gardens, cultural precincts and fine dining options. Within 2.5 hours drive from Auckland, this location gives you great access to explore the North Island.
Essential Criteria
You must have full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current APC.
