The Position 
You will be joining an open, energetic, and friendly SMO team with a culture of collaboration, support and curiosity. Their 2 modern Emergency Departments receive attendances of over 110,000 patients combined annually, and are each recognised by ACEM for advanced training. They continue to challenge themselves to incrementally innovate and implement better ways of delivering Emergency Care and are seeking Specialists to extend us in this regard. Their permanent Team supporting their vision includes Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Specialists, Social Workers, Discharge Coordinators, Liaison Psychiatry and Physiotherapists. 

The work you do will be varied because the two EDs personalities are distinctly different and each serves very different population groups. You will typically be on shift with one other specialist, and around 40% of your clinical work will include being in charge of resus. Their night shifts are staffed by Senior Doctors who take over support of the department from the afternoon shift Specialists. 

The Location 
Located north of Auckland. Close to all the beaches and a naval base. Easy drive to the CBD, relaxed commute to the harbor. Lots of opportunities to explore, catch a ferry to travel to the Islands near by. 

Essential Criteria: 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
