Consultant Psychiatrist – Emergency & Sub-Acute Inpatient Mental Health 

Summary: 
* Emergency Psychiatric service and Sub-Acute Inpatient Mental Heal 
* Up to 1.0 FTE Permanent position 

Start Date: February 2020 

Rates: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications 

The Position 
Our client is currently having a half time position (0.5 FTE) in their Emergency Psychiatric service and a half time (0.5 FTE) position in the sub-acute/rehabilitation inpatient ward. As a Consultant Psychiatrist with previous general adult experience in either an inpatient or community setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels. 

You will be required to participate on an on call roster providing after hours coverage for the Otago region.

Close by are national parks and summer and winter playgrounds that are part of Queenstown and Central Otago. 

Essential Criteria: 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
