Consultant Gastroenterologist

Rates: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications 

The Position 
Our client has an immediate need for a specialist who is committed to develop their career and work in a very collegial work environment. As the successful candidate, you will have proven skills and experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. An ability to perform ERCP would be desirable but not essential and experience in deploying esophageal, duodenal and colonic stents is highly desirable as currently only one of the Gastroenterologists provides this expertise. If necessary training in these techniques will be arranged. A shared role with Internal Medicine may be able to be considered, but is certainly not mandatory. 

The busy service provides over 3000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2000 outpatient appointments. The team currently comprises three gastroenterologists and a team of nurses lead by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient, and endoscopy experience.

Located in a beautiful provincial centre on the East Coast of the North Island, NZ with approximately 162,000 population. It enjoys stunning scenery and a temperate climate with sunny dry summers. Essential Criteria: 
To apply for this position you must hold or be eligible for vocational scope of practice in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
