If you hold one of qualifications listed below, you are eligible to work in New Zealand as an anaesthetics locum for up to twelve months. You are also eligible to apply for vocational registration which has no restriction on the time you can work in New Zealand. Qualification criteria can, however, change at the discretion of the New Zealand Medical Council at any time. The approved specialist qualifications in anaesthesia are:
Doctors who hold a specialist qualification in anaesthesia but not one of those listed above may be eligible to apply for vocational registration in New Zealand, allowing you to work at consultant level.
Doctors without specialist qualifications, but who have worked in anaesthetic jobs for a minimum of 30 hours per week for at least 33 out of the last 48 months in one of the following comparable health countries, are eligible to work in New Zealand at registrar level, depending on your level of training and experience.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America.
